How to crop in Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 ?

I know how to crop with the crop tool in Adobe Elements 6.0.. but how do you use the lasso tool to crop photos. I need precise crop-ing. Not big square chunks being crop-ed off. I need precise things crop-ed off. The lasso tool lets me make precise selections. But how do I use it to crop.

And how can I make funny pics, like the one below (click the link)

Combining two pictures like that. Thanks....

Oh and do you know of a good webstie that can give free tutorials on Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0?

Thanks

In order to crop and yet retaining the current image, one good method is to lasso your object, and click on the 'New Layer' button, this will create a new layer with your selection.

New layer can also be done with keyboard shortcut, default is,
Cmd + J (Mac OS)
Ctrl + J (Windows)

I'm using the standard version of Photoshop, but I supposed the basic features are the same for Elements.

The following site has some great tutorials for standard Photoshop, but I'm sure some of them works the same for Elements too!
