Resizing Landscape and Portrait Images in Photoshop?
Hi,
I used to use Adobe Image Ready for batch resizing my imges for the web. It had a great little Conditional Actions droplet in it that you could set, so that if an image was portrait, it would adjust the canvas width to make it square and if it was landscape, it would adjust the canvas height and make it square. The droplet could be then set to compress the image and save it.
I now have Photoshop CS4, but I can't see anything like this. Is there an easy way to batch process a lot of images (making them square, resizing and saving)???
Any Help, Much Appreciated.
Thanks
If you are talking about making the size of a picture different in PS CS4 then do this:
Go to Image;Image Size: Change it to what you want. This will make the image smaller as well as the size. You can change the image size to how PS allows you to do so, depending on the image size. If it is a rectangle it will most likely stay rectangular.
If you are talking about a picture size being reduced, you need to find something like an "Optimize" and "4-up". This will show you 4 different versions of that same image, about 2 of them with a lower file size.
You can easily "optimize" in Adobe Image Ready (Ctrl Shift M) put the picture in, near the top of the window it should say Optimize or (Something, I can't remember right now). With it/Near it, could be "4-Up". Then you can choose: Original Image by going to the 4 up, picking the lowest sized one, click Original Image and then it can be resized.
