alrighty, ill write the text with the horizontal type mask tool and then ill color it in a deselect. As time goes on i want to move the text (in this case it says carpe) but i cant magic land it b/c its many different colors and i cant make it a box with the marquee tool b/c i cant have the square edges, i just need to move the outline of the word carpe and i know there is away to do it WITHOUT THE MAGIC WAND TOOL AND WITHOUT SELECTING AROUND THE ENTIRE THING WITH THE LASSO TOOL. if you have any advice please help!
10 points best answer!
Just use the Horizontal Text Tool not the Horizontal Mask Tool. The HTT will put the text on a different layer as the mask tool doesn't. Then in the layers palette select the text layer and with the move tool just click in the window and drag text where you want it. If you are continually changing it, save it before you flatten it with a little different name, say mypic-not flat. Then if using it to print or display then you need to flatten image (smaller file size) To do this, in the layers palette click the little arrow at top right of layers screen and go down to Flatten Image, then save it different from the one that is not flat. Next time you want to change it just open the one that is not flattened.
