How do I turn my logo into an EPS file in Photoshop?

I recently tried to submit a logo to my superiors at work and was told that the file was incompatible with their EPS standards. The logo is text on a plain, white background. This is the message I was given:

"Sorry, this will still not work. This is an eps file, but it is an eps of a small bitmap graphic.
Since your art is all type, I need to have all of the type as postscript native outline... not a placed
image. From the looks of it, it was designed in a program like Adobe Illustrator or similar.

I can tell from the link panel in Illustrator (see screen capture below) that this is a embedded linked bit mapped. When this gets enlarge, it will pixelate."

How can I fix this? The logo was originally a picture of text. Should I physically retype the text?

I'm fairly new at this, so any help you guys can give me would be really appreciated!

Thanks

For the best quality and to get a file that can be scaled up without loss of quality, recreate the text in Illustrator, not Photoshop. Once you have done this you can save the logo in eps format from Illustrator. If matching the sizing/spacing is critical, place the bitmap image in Illustrator and recreate the text over the top so you can get it as close to identical as possible. Delete the placed image before the final save.
