Why does photoshop use 100% of cpu when rendering? (1.67 gh, 1gig RAM)?
I up my RAM to 1 gig to prevent freeze ups when rendering a PS picture but cpu is maxing out. What am doing wrong?
Photoshop, when it renders I am assuming you mean 3D and 2D with effects it uses 100% of the CPU becasuse 1.67Gh/z isn't that fast. I max out my Dual 64-bit 2.0Gh/z G5 when I render some photos in Photoshop with 4 Gigs of Ram.
I would say to let it run, if it freezes you may want to change your scratch disk to something other then what you are using.
It isn't your computer so don't go out and buy a new one! Photoshop is a hardware intensive program, but it is and will run on anything.
